I am very impressed by the performance and speed of this UKIJS Mail.app.

Just wondering whether full functional communication of mails between client and server will take you extra times or not, if no big framework (both server and client side framework) is used.

BTW: I have implemented a Gmail-style web mail client ( http://demo.java2script.org/mail/ or http://kexmail.com/ ) some months ago. It took me about 7 days or so to implement both client side and server side. In my implementation, UI designing and event binding cost most of my time. As I were using Java2Script framework ( http://j2s.sourceforge.net/ Ya, a heavyweight framework with a little poor performance ), implementing the server side based on SimpleRPC and JavaMail did not cost too much time. But supporting all kinds of mail servers and protocols do cost some extra time.

Cool. Sure it is not possible, but it would be very cool if there was a way to port the app to become the web interface for Snow Leopard Server's mail server. The current squirrel mail web interface is primitive in ways that are long overdue improvement.

This looks like the perfect missing piece we need for Amahi, the home/small biz server. It's one of the most frequently requested features. We can easily take care of the backend infrastructure and make this the front end.

I wonder how far is it from being actually a usable app (i.e. how much is it still a prototype). Anything we can do to help finish it?
